I realize that no two people are the same and tailor therapy to meet the specific needs of my clients. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other issue, I will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.
Individual Psychotherapy for Adults
When your days and nights are a struggle, it might be hard to imagine your own capacity to make things better. Together, we will figure out how you can take control of challenges that seem insurmountable.
I will explore with you how your past influences your present, the relationships that could be more satisfying, and the ways you can experience your own success. In practice, this might mean talking weekly about whatever is on your mind–with some pointed questions and comments from me to call your attention to opportunities for insight and change. We might also work on tools to reduce or manage anxiety and lift the clouds you feel you can’t shake.
Sometimes people come to therapy because they feel uncomfortable in their body. You might be uncomfortable with your shape, how you interact with food and alcohol, or your gender expression. One goal of therapy might be to feel comfortable being yourself across all situations.
If you might benefit from medication to support our work and alleviate your symptoms, I will help you find a psychiatrist to see once in awhile. Sometimes a primary care provider can also help navigate medication.
