Parents of Children with Special Needs
Ack! You have recently become an expert in early intervention, the NYC DOE, advocating for your child, and pediatric sub-specialties you had never heard of until recently. Overwhelmed? Isolated? I can help you process your experiences.
I work with lots of parents who have been through similar challenges. I am the proud parent of a neurodiverse/medically complex child as well as a neurotypical child.
I periodically run a parents’ group, but don’t have any on the horizon right now. Send me a message if you want to be looped in for future scheduling updates. Past topics have included:

Getting an accurate diagnosis, figuring out what your child needs, and putting services in place should be easier than this.
All the feels.
Love, guilt, disappointment, frustration.
You just don’t understand!
Communicating with everyone in your life about your child, your family, and your complicated situation.
I can’t do this alone
Helping your partner in life be a partner in special needs parenting.
Wrapping up
It gets easier.
Most moms who come to the group have children school-aged or younger with neurodevelopmental delays/disorders and/or medical complexity.
